«Taking advantage of the intertwining of formal, political, legal, and verbal registers that always constitute the symbolic object that is the flag, the exhibition «Tirant d’air» (which could have been written «tyran d’art») is a video installation proposal showing that there is something unpredictable about referring to any order whatsoever.
The injunction never produces what it imagines. (Unless the injunction produces only what it imagines.)
It is therefore a question of relating it to the image, of playing on the disjunction. Far from killing, including the image, far from arresting, the work is a simple setting in motion, an effort to shake things up, a push towards the lightness of the wind.
If art, like politics, sometimes lacks air, here there is no suffocation; what is exposed tends to flee, carried away by the breath of the wind.»
The exhibition is open to the public from March 17 to May 05, 2006.
