At the suggestion of Metz-based Galerie Modulab, father and daughter set up a discussion between their two practices. At the Centre d’art contemporain / Passages, harmony is created by a scenography devised by curator Aurélie Amiot and the artists.
On the one hand, we have Charles Kalt, who is working on the book-object. In particular, he discusses its deployment in space and its deconstruction. Other works by this artist revolve around a vocabulary of varied forms and techniques such as silkscreen.
Color then becomes a transdisciplinary element. On the other hand, Irma takes a different approach to motif, using woodcuts and the medium of wallpaper. The motif then becomes material, often in line and grid patterns.
An annex to the exhibition will take place at the Médiathèque Jacques Chirac in Troyes-Champagne métropole. Entitled c.k éditions, Charles Kalt presents works that can be seen from outside the large room at the back of the building.
