Initially, our decision to exhibit together at Espace Beaurepaire in Paris in 2012 was based on a shared sense of fraternity. By simply confronting our works, we realized that contrasting objects of very different natures enhanced the way we looked at them. Vincent, who had already made his credo of abundant monstrations, was undoubtedly strengthened in his choices; for my part, this experience had a lot to do with what I would eventually theorize, the dualistic principle that led me to oppose deliberately dissimilar objects within the same composition. It’s no doubt thanks to our acquaintance that I began to think about the effectiveness of good graphic design, and that it led me to a more radical gesture. So it was a logical extension of our experiences, the idea of asking the Centre d’art contemporain / Passages to exhibit.
